A show home with soul, designed to help buyers picture their future
Show homes have one job: to help someone walk through the front door and immediately imagine their life unfolding there. For this project at WPV Homes' Hafan y Glyn development in Colwyn Bay, we set out to prove that a new build needn't feel like a blank canvas. It can feel like home from the very first viewing.
Working closely with the developer, our brief was to create interiors that would captivate potential buyers while showcasing just how much warmth, texture and personality these homes can hold.
Warm minimalism with a confident streak
The heart of the home is built around a rich, layered palette of creams, caramels and deep berry tones. In the main living space, a generous bouclé corner sofa anchors the room, dressed with tactile fringed cushions and set against brown panelled walls that add instant depth. A plush rust velvet swivel chair provides the statement moment, while travertine coffee tables and warm-toned abstract artwork tie the whole scheme together.
Bespoke walnut-effect media walls feature throughout, pairing open display shelving with concealed storage, styled to feel collected rather than staged. In the open-plan dining space, a marble-topped pedestal table and sculptural boucle chairs sit beneath brass pendant lighting, with herringbone flooring adding a final layer of texture underfoot.

A principal bedroom worth lingering in
Upstairs, the principal bedroom leans into hotel-luxe. Wall-to-wall wave curtains soften the space, a faux fur throw and layered cushions in cream and damson dress the bed, and a striking alabaster-globe chandelier delivers the wow moment overhead. Every detail, from the styled dressing area to the ambient lighting, is designed to make viewers pause and picture their own mornings here.
